Wenn in Lalaland, a powerful one-man show that combines music, story telling and drama, takes to the stage at Die Suidoosterfees on Friday 29 April.Written, directed and performed by the prolific and versatile Julian Wenn, the 30-minute production takes place from 17:00 to 17:30 at the Artscape Piazza Plesier Tent. After touring malls around Cape Town, Wear SA hosted their mall tour fashion show at Tygervalley Centre in Cape Town on 22 April 2016. Some of the countries leading brands showcased their designs to the public such as Bokang Lehabe (Bookha Creations) and Jade Saunders (theHive), as well as the House of WearSA brands, which include: B.Zar and Democracy of Denim (Designer: Tamsyn Johannisen), Blue Collar White Collar (Designer Paul van der Spuy), Magents (Designers: Didier DeVilliers and Tey Spanks) and Relabelled. It was something like sitting in the front row of SA fashion week. Designers pulled out all the stops to ensure that the public was left in awe of their eclectic designs. Like you know you're a big deal in the fashion industry when fashionista's, movers and shakers brave the cold to attend your new collection launch on easter Sunday. It all went down earlier this month for the Masa Mara Sports Wear Launch at Creative Nestlings in the heart of the Mother City. Hectic Nine-9's Laurian Nortje Kabongo and Good Hope FM's DJ Kayeezi held it down on the mic. The new collection is African-print sportluxe inspired. It is made up comfortable yet, funky sportswear made up of earthy colours and cool African prints. I'm not really a sportswear kind of girl but this collection really impressed me sooo much! 2016 Cape Town International Jazz Festival headliner, Angie Stone. The 17th Cape Town International Jazz Festival was definitely one for the books. Compared to last year, it is safe to say that I had too much fun. It's always fun bumping into people you haven't seen in a while, and of course meeting new people adds that extra bit of fun! American singer, Angie Stone falling ill just hours before her performance seemed to have taken it's toll on her. She wasn't the powerhouse singer everyone expected to see. However, she tried her best to pull through and entertained festino's with her new hits and old ones like I Wish I Didn't Miss You Anymore. Highlights on day one was definitely Abigail Kubeka and Dorothy Masuka, who brought back the 50s era with their Marabi-inspired sounds. I also enjoyed Dr. Victor And The Rasta Rebels and American R&B trio, SWV. Favourite's on day two was definitely BadBadNotGood from Canada, who performed a fusion of music ...

On Saturday 9th April 2016 all roads lead to the YashoLento Fashion March at Zolani Centre in Nyanga. The fashion march will feature models, fashion designers, photographers, rappers and DJ's. The event will be hosted by Speech The Dreamer.Doors on the day open at 12:00. On the day those attending the event must use the hashtag #IAMFashionFoward and #FashionIsArt. The cast of Star Wors If it's entertaining comedy with a local twist you're looking for, then Star Wors - The Wors awakens! is for you! The cast, which features Allana Aldridge, Obed Plaatjes, Rameez Nordien, Khalil Kathrada and Justin Wilkinson plays different characters from the Star Wars saga. Characters such Darth Maulema, Princess Lamy, Queen Amazille and Luke can be seen in the hour-long production. Star Wors - The Wors Awakens! runs until 27 February 2016 at 8.15pm at the Artscape Theatre. Tickets cost R80. Block booking tickets cost R60, as well as tickets for students and pensioners.
