Q and A with Judy Boucher

If you could define Cape Town in a few words, how would you define it?
It's great and wonderful. It’s a good time of the year, because it’s summer. I’ve been here in the past when it was winter. It was cold and very windy. This time of year, it's really nice and warm.
How would you define your style?
I tend to shop for clothing that is not cheap, but timeless. I don’t buy a dress that I wear today, and can’t wear it next week. I always try to dress properly and wear my own style.
What are your thoughts on the Cape Town music industry?
I’m loving it. It’s really amazing. Since my first show in South Africa, I was blown away.
If there is anything you would like Capetonians to know about you, what would it be?
I love Cape Town. It’s very much like my birthplace St. Vincent in the Caribbean. It’s like my second home. I often mention Cape Town a lot on my social media.
What would you say are some of your career highlights?
Definitely, when I first charted in the music business in 1985, and releasing my debut album Can't Be With You Tonight in 1986. Coming to South Africa for the first time was also a big highlight for me.
Where to next for Judy Boucher after leaving South Africa?
I will be catching up with family in London, then go back to St. Vincent in the Caribbean, which is my birthplace. I'm preparing for the launch of my autobiography. It’s complete, I am in the process of looking for publishers.
