Love it or hate it, Valentine's Day is almost here! Yes, the countdown to 14 February  has begun!Everyone's talking about it!

Shops have certainly stocked up on roses, chocs and all that jazz.You're most probably planning how to spoil that  someone special in your life - that's if you have a 'Valentine', of course! Or, you secretly kind of hoping that your crush will surprise you with a gift right?

Mm...If not, no valentine? No problem! single people around the world has dubbed 14 February as Single Awareness Day, which is aimed at celebrating the freedom that comes with being single. Truth is, Valentine's Day has since developed into a day that can be celebrated with anyone special in your life, whether it's a best friend, mother, sister, aunty it's ok!

 Well,  usually you only realize after it’s happened…Like after the honeymoon phase is gone, and you start seeing the person for who and what they are, and then when it hits you, you’re like wow, yeah I actually love this person.  You just can’t know it in the first month.

It’s awesome, but overrated. This relationship thing is not about chocolates and teddy bears. I expect a teddy bear,or gifts at any other time, but I mean just because it’s Valentines Day, it doesn’t change how the world will be spinning on the axis.  I’ll be home spending time with my daughter.

I received a rose from an admirer in high school.
