Smart Call reigned supreme
Smart Call booked her ticket to the US for the Breeders Cup in October, after upstaging her male rivals in the R2.5m J&B Metropolitan Handicap at Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday,30 January 2016.
The four-year-old filly, won at a time of 2:03.17 for the ten furlongs.
With just 300 meters left to run, Legal Eagle hit the front and was quickly challenged by Smart Call, who pulled away decisively under JP Van Der Merwe.

The most elegant couple competition
The competition was tough but in the end it was Jehan Bheko and Juan Smidt Von Vulish who walked away with the prestigious title.
"I am in shock. It was really unexpected. It was a really amazing feeling."says Jehan.
Her dress was inspired by a origame meets couture theme, made up different textures of paper. It took 3 weeks to create the dress. The most elegant couple winners have been close friends for 10 years.
