The inside scoop...

Elegant winner:Actress Jennifer Steyn scooped an award for Best Performance by a lead actress in a play for her role in  Milk Train Dosen't Stop Here Anymore .
The 49th annual Fleur Du Cap Theatre Awards, held at The Baxter Theatre on Sunday, 16 March 2014 was indeed an elegant affair.

Guests which included many well-known faces in the entertainment industry ,were treated to complimentary drinks upon arrival, as photographers snapped away as they graced the red carpet.

A live band kept guests entertained, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the foyer. The Cape Town Philharmonic Youth  Orchestra opened the Fleur Du Cap Theatre Awards,  hosted by Comedian Allan Committie and Africa Melane.

Top honours on the night went to Nicholas Ellenbogen,
who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Meanwhile,
Rooiland, a theatre production about prison life scooped five awards in categories such as Best New South African Script, Best performance by a lead actor in a play was awarded to Brendon Daniels and Charlton George was awarded Best performance by a supporting actor in a play .
Furthermore,
The Rocky Horror Show also scooped top honours in categories such as Best performance by a lead actor in a musical or music theatre awarded to Brendan Van Rhyn, Best performance by a supporting actress in a music or music theatre show was awarded to Daneel Van der Walt. Each winner received R15 000,00 in cash and a silver medal.
Live entertainment  was provided by songstress Dorothy Masuka and Pantsula dancers, as they showed off their funky dance moves, as well as Ubuntu B-Boy crew added some local Cape Town street flavour to the event. Thereafter,
guests were treated to delicious snacks and drinks and live entertainment, as they mingled the night away.
